Young veterinary professionals are nearing graduation and the beginning of their working lives. Many have already accepted their first job offers, but the status of our industry has sown significant doubt into the minds of those entering the profession in thinking they may never find a place they truly love to work. Our profession is filled with passionate, intelligent and altruistic people, but the slow death of the traditional practice and the overtaking of corporate medicine doesn’t provide a lot of hope for our best and brightest.
On this weeks PAWCast, we are joined by future Dr. Breanna Demaline. Bre attends Michigan State University CVM and is the president of the MSU VBMA (Veterinary Business Management Association) chapter. We have had the great opportunity to collaborate with and mentor Dr. Demaline since the beginning of her veterinary school experience, and during a recent VBMA event, she posed a great question. “What if I never find my dream practice?”
In this episode, Dr. Carlo, Dr. Caroline, Dr. Bre and Ben all discuss the search for a great practice to work in and potentially purchase as well as what variables to audit while you are working to know if you’re in the right place.
What do you look for in a place to work or a team to work with? Do you have any deciding variables that make of break that decision?
