Her career spans clinical practice, leadership, and mentorship roles with positions ranging from associate veterinarian, clinical instructor, and Chief Operating Officer. In 2015, she and her husband founded PAW Health Network, Inc and provide 24-hour veterinary care to the central Wisconsin region and beyond. Dr. Niksich completed her undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Minnesota and went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She later broadened her expertise with a Master of Public Health, concentrating on food safety, biosecurity, and disaster preparedness. She also holds the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential, reflecting her comprehensive mastery of core public health knowledge and competencies. Most recently, her dedication to enhancing the emotional and physical wellbeing of animals led her to complete and maintain her Fear Free Veterinary Professional Certification. Additionally, she volunteers at the Humane Society of Marathon County and for the PTO at her children’s schools. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking, reading, and watching crime dramas.

Alyssa Ruston-Bray

DVM

Dr. Ruston-Bray approaches veterinary medicine with a simple but powerful philosophy: every day is an opportunity to learn. Driven by a deep-seated curiosity and a commitment to clinical excellence, she is dedicated to continuously evolving her case management and procedural skills to provide the highest standard of care for every patient. She is particularly passionate about the emotional well-being of her patients, specializing in stress-mitigation strategies to ensure a calmer, more comfortable experience both in the clinic and at home. In addition to behavioral wellness, Dr. Ruston-Bray provides a compassionate voice for senior pets and those facing chronic illness. She finds deep purpose in guiding families through quality-of-life and end-of-life discussions, offering the insights and perspective needed to navigate these difficult transitions with dignity and clarity. Whether managing routine wellness exams or navigating high-energy weekends with complex urgent care cases, Dr. Ruston-Bray thrives in a collaborative environment. She believes the heart of veterinary medicine lies in the shared dedication of the team, and her commitment to the global veterinary community is highlighted by her volunteer work providing essential surgical services in Guatemala. “Veterinary medicine is filled with the most compassionate people I’ve ever met. They stay focused on their patients and provide incredible love and care, often in spite of an exhausting field of work. I am proud to work alongside them.”

Kim Gums

DVM

Dr. Gums approaches veterinary medicine not just as a career, but as a family legacy. Growing up in the Wausau area, she discovered her calling while volunteering at her mother’s cat rescue and working alongside her grandmother, who is also a veterinarian. After earning both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees from UW-Madison, she returned home, eager to serve the community that raised her. As a dedicated advocate for her patients, Dr. Gums views herself as both a healer and an educator. She operates under the mantra, “Proceed as if success is inevitable,” a mindset that guides her pursuit of excellence in urgent care and preventative medicine. Drawing on years of experience bottle-feeding neonatal kittens, she serves as a specialized resource for feline medicine and neonatal care, finding deep fulfillment in protecting vulnerable patients during their earliest stages of life. Grounded in the belief that there is no such thing as a “bad question,” she is committed to community education and empowering caregivers with the knowledge their pets need to thrive. For Dr. Gums, the most rewarding aspect of her work is witnessing a pet’s true personality shine through once they have recovered from an illness. This same passion extends to her own home, where she cares for two domestic shorthairs, Asher and Milo. Asher, now eight years old, holds a special place in her heart as a former bottle-fed kitten she raised herself. Off the clock, Dr. Gums fully embraces the Wisconsin landscape, spending her free time hiking, camping, and enjoying the outdoors. “I love being able to be a voice for animals within the community. My goal is to continue growing my skill set to become a force of change in the veterinary field while providing the highest level of care to our local pets.”

Bailey Wetzel

DVM

Since the age of seven, Dr. Wetzel has known that her calling was to become a veterinarian. While her initial inspiration sprang from a childhood love for animals, her passion has grown into a deep appreciation for complex medical problem-solving and the human connections formed within the clinic. She shows up every day to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves and to support caregivers through both the best and hardest moments of their pets’ lives. Dr. Wetzel is particularly passionate about the technical and diagnostic aspects of surgery and dermatology. She enjoys the hands-on teamwork required in the operating room and the methodical puzzle of dermatological cases, both of which allow her to make a tangible, immediate impact on a patient’s daily comfort. As a dedicated educator, she also emphasizes the importance of preventative care, specifically regarding the impact of spay and neuter programs on animal health and community welfare. When she isn’t practicing medicine, Dr. Wetzel is an avid reader who enjoys spending time with family and experimenting with her new sourdough starter. She also shares a unique hobby with her sister, operating a rabbitry business and competing in ARBA rabbit shows.
Her home is rounded out by two beloved pets: Finn, a typical Labrador Retriever who loves naps and mischief, and Norbert, a playful one-year-old cat with a big personality. Whether managing a chronic condition or performing a routine procedure, Dr. Wetzel remains committed to her primary goal: helping pets and the people who love them. “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

Heather Halfmann

DVM

Dr. Halfmann is a driven veterinarian who thrives on the variety and complexity of animal medicine. Driven by a natural aptitude for science and a desire to help patients who cannot speak for themselves, she was drawn to the profession because of the diverse skill sets it requires—from interpreting radiographs and performing ultrasounds to managing complex medical cases. For Dr. Halfmann, the “why” behind her work is simple: she loves the daily challenges the clinic brings and the support of an incredible team. This deep appreciation for teamwork and high-level performance stems from a lifelong athletic background. Before entering the clinic, she spent years competing across a wide range of sports—including volleyball, basketball, rugby, hockey, and softball. With a mindset geared toward action and resolution, Dr. Halfmann is particularly passionate about surgery. She identifies as a problem solver at heart and finds great satisfaction in the tangible results of surgical intervention. One of her most memorable career milestones involved performing a successful emergency thoracotomy on a dog impaled by a large branch—a high-stakes case where her quick thinking and technical skill saved a life against all odds. Dr. Halfmann’s “problem solver” nature isn’t limited to the clinic; it’s a trait she carries into her most important role as a mother. While her younger years were filled with high-adrenaline adventures like skydiving and bungee jumping, as well as travels across Europe, Africa, and Australia, she now values her time away from the clinic to simply relax and recharge. Whether she is navigating a routine check-up or a complex surgical procedure, Dr. Halfmann remains focused on providing honest, compassionate care rooted in a genuine love for the craft of medicine. “We really care… Many nights I stay awake thinking about cases I saw during the day and wonder how they are doing.”

Olivia Roeske-Kretzer

DVM

She is particularly passionate about the fast-paced nature of urgent care, emergency medicine, and surgery. Her home life is centered around her three companions: Whiskers, a 10-year-old Tuxedo cat; Cinny, a fluffy 2-year-old long-haired tabby; and Opal, a spirited 6-year-old Corgi.

Carlo Riolo

DVM

Carlo A. Riolo, DVM, is a veterinary industry leader rebuilding the animal side of medicine through bold, culture-first collaboration. A Michigan State University graduate, since 2006, Dr. Riolo has served on the front lines of after-hours and urgent care since 2006. He founded PAW Health on a practical system for perpetual growth grounded in Collaborative Identity, Communication and Actions. Dr. Riolo equips leaders and teams to navigate conflict, deepen understanding, and drive sustainable development — while separating professional issues from personal problems so real solutions replace emotional friction. His work champions the “creative destruction” of outdated systems: derailing delusions and dismantling dysfunction to build healthier work environments. For Dr. Riolo, prioritizing team care is as important as patient care. As such, within his practice, he emphasizes talent development, equitable compensation and benefits, and meaningful mentorship for students and new graduates. Central to Dr. Riolo’s teachings are the 5 C’s of Collaboration — Commitment, Clarity, Competency, Confidence and Consistency. Direct and purpose-driven, Dr. Riolo builds frameworks that calm chaos, treat root causes and make ownership worth protecting.

Outside of the clinic, Trevor embraces a balanced and outdoorsy lifestyle that reflects his practice of Taoism. He frequently finds his “zen” through a mix of active and mindful pursuits, whether he is camping, fishing, grilling, or diving into a good book. Sarai

Certified Veterinary Technician

Tenacious | Compassionate | Curious With over a decade of experience at PAW, Sarai has turned a lifelong love for animals into a distinguished career in veterinary medicine. While she began her journey in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, a single job shadow experience shifted her focus toward the fast-paced world of emergency care. For Sarai, the motivation is simple: being the advocate that patients need when everyone else is closed. Sarai thrives in the “chaos turned to order” that defines urgent care. She is particularly drawn to the variety and technical challenges of emergency medicine, where no two days are ever the same. This passion for high-stakes problem-solving has fueled her primary career aspiration: obtaining VTS Certification in Emergency and Critical Care. Drawing on years of experience—including specialized work with avian traumatic brain injuries at a Chicago wildlife center—Sarai brings a unique depth of knowledge to the team. She is a strong proponent of pet insurance and proactive communication, always striving to work within a caregiver’s budget to ensure every patient receives the best possible life-saving care. When not managing emergencies, Sarai enjoys the quiet rhythms of gardening, baking, and hiking. She is also a dedicated lifelong learner with a particular soft spot for pigeons and doves, often sharing the fascinating history of their domestication with others. Her home is a lively sanctuary filled with family and a diverse group of beloved animals. Inside, the house buzzes with the energy of two dogs—Mando, a spirited Pittie mix, and Rey, a tiny Chihuahua—alongside three distinct cats named Bella, Mitten, and Ahsoka, a unique Cornish Rex. The vibrant life indoors seamlessly extends to the backyard, which serves as a peaceful retreat featuring a tranquil Koi pond and a bustling flock of chickens.

Olivia

Certified Veterinary Technician

Compassionate | Ambitious | Introverted Growing up on a farm surrounded by a wide variety of animals, Olivia developed an early love for creatures great and small that eventually merged with a deep interest in the medical field. Today, she shows up every day with a mission to bridge the gap between medical professionals and pet owners. By prioritizing clear communication and education, Olivia empowers caregivers to understand preventative measures that prolong the lives of their beloved companions. Above all, she believes in treating every patient with the same level of compassion and high-quality care she would provide to her own pets.
While Olivia is a dedicated advocate for domestic pets, she possesses a unique and profound passion for wildlife and exotic medicine, with a specific focus on primatology. For the past four years, she has volunteered at a primate sanctuary, serving as a caretaker for rhesus macaques and vervet monkeys. This experience caring for retired laboratory and rescued primates has fueled her career aspiration to become certified in wildlife and exotic care, with the ultimate goal of contributing to global conservation and fieldwork. Her family includes two St. Bernards, Mabel and Weston, who are self-described “big babies” that love chasing squirrels, and a 12-year-old cat named Carol who insists on sleeping on Olivia’s head every night. The household also features a mother-son goat duo, Franklin and Susan, who spend their days sunbathing and snacking on green beans, as well as a newcomer ocelot gecko named Dino and a flock of a dozen chickens. When she isn’t tending to her animals or volunteering at the primate sanctuary, Olivia stays grounded through weightlifting, golfing, baking, and getting lost in a good book. “I know how much love we all have for pets and how difficult it is to see them suffer. I strive to make owners aware of preventative medicine and insurance to ensure they have the support they need when it matters most.”

She shows up every day ready to tackle high-stakes challenges, bringing over 20 years of experience to patient care. One of her most rewarding cases involved “Doc,” a two-year-old Labrador Retriever with a mesenteric lymphatic abscess. After receiving countless days of dedicated, round-the-clock nursing care, Doc beat a guarded prognosis and walked out of the hospital with his tail wagging. Off the clock, she stays busy running a hobby farm and a dog kennel, Granite Ridge Gun Dogs, alongside her husband and two daughters. She loves gardening, tending to her diverse farm animals, and training and hunting her dogs for upland bird hunting. Her massive animal family includes 13 dogs (predominantly English Pointers, alongside Border Terriers, English Setters, and a Deutsch Langhaar), two three-legged cats, a parrot, a tortoise, pairs of donkeys and goats, a peacock duo, a flock of over 50 named chickens and homing pigeons. “Setters, Brittanys and German Shorthairs face quail as if their lives depended on it, but when a good English Pointer faces a bird, he does so with all but one foot on the coals of hell.” — Guy De La Valdene

Addy

Certified Veterinary Technician

Fun | Easygoing | Happy With over 25 years of experience in the veterinary field, Addy remains just as passionate about the profession as the day she started. Driven by a lifelong love for animals and a fascination with medical science, she has dedicated her career to being a steady hand for pets and caregivers when they need it most—especially during the critical hours of nights, weekends, and holidays. Addy thrives in the high-energy, fast-paced environment of the ER. She is particularly drawn to the triage process, where no two days are ever alike and there is always a new challenge to master. This dedication to constant growth has led her to her current career aspiration: obtaining VTS Certification in Emergency and Critical Care. When the shift ends, Addy is almost certainly headed outside; an adventurer at heart, she is happiest when traveling to the Upper Peninsula or exploring the shores of the Great Lakes, especially Lake Superior. Whether she is rock hounding, kayaking, fishing, or simply being on the water, she finds her true balance in nature. Her home life is famously full of energy and anchored by her favorite breed, the Boxer. Her personal crew includes her “hiking buddies” Truckee and Penny (both Boxers), an Australian Shepherd named Kleo, and a duo of orange tabby cats, Henry and Finn. “I speak for those who have no voice,”

Witnessing how much veterinary care improved those kittens’ lives sparked a lifelong love for science and a calling to help both animals and people. Today, as a CVT, she considers it a true privilege to stand alongside families through both their most joyful and their hardest moments. Betheny is deeply passionate about veterinary physical rehabilitation. For her, nothing is more rewarding than seeing the tangible impact rehab has on restoring a patient’s mobility, managing their pain, and strengthening the bond between pets and their caregivers. Outside of the clinic, Betheny leads a busy and adventurous life as a mom to four boys. While her past adventures include skydiving, she now prefers more grounded activities to unwind. In her free time, she enjoys trying her hand at gardening, watching her backyard chickens, and making memories with her family. Betheny’s compassion for animals is clear through her unique household of rescue pets. Her dog, Homer, was adopted as a puppy and closely resembles a mostly hairless Peruvian Inca Orchid. She also shares her home with Pumpkin, a longhaired orange tabby, and Litten, a white flame-point domestic shorthair. This duo of sibling cats is especially unique because they are both polydactyl, meaning they sport plenty of extra toes. “Be the positive impact on the lives of others”

Montana

Certified Veterinary Technician

Attentive | Compassionate | Supportive Montana’s career as a Certified Veterinary Technician stems from her deep love for science and medicine. She shows up every day driven by a powerful mission: advocating for patients who cannot advocate for themselves. While she dedicates herself to prioritizing the well-being of every animal she treats, Montana has a special passion for exotic medicine. She loves how every unique species brings its own set of medical quirks and is always eager to expand her knowledge in this specialized area. She also possesses a great sense of humor when it comes to the unpredictable nature of the job, fondly recalling a memorable surgical case where she helped remove a completely whole, unpunctured bag of Cheez-Its from a dog’s stomach. Off the clock, Montana loves to immerse herself in nature, spending her free time hiking and fishing. While she grew up with German Shorthaired Pointers, her current apartment companion is a sweet, two-year-old Syrian hamster with beautiful golden fur who loves to run in her exercise ball. Wesley

Friendly | Cheerful | Adventurous Wesley’s journey into veterinary medicine began in front of the TV, inspired by The Incredible Dr. Pol as a child. Today, that childhood curiosity has evolved into a dedicated career focused on mastering the skills necessary to help animals in need. He finds the technical side of medicine particularly fascinating, enjoying the intricacy of surgical procedures and the transformation of a patient from injury to recovery. Wesley shows up every day driven by the goal of advancing his expertise, with aspirations to return to school and earn his CVT certification. Wesley views animals as much more than just pets—they are lifelong companions and best friends. Early in his career, an interaction with a grieving client taught him the profound weight of the human-animal bond. This experience solidified his commitment to making difficult moments just a little bit easier for both the patient and the caregiver. While he is quick to remind people that the profession involves much more than “playing with puppies and kittens,” he’s the first to admit that if there’s a puppy in the building, he’ll be there to offer some love. Off the clock, Wesley embraces his adventurous side through hunting, archery, and playing video games, or he simply unwinds with a good book. By a happy coincidence, he adopted both of his cats while working at veterinary clinics, and they have since become the permanent “Sirs” of his household. Caregiver Support Staff

Jo

Caregiver Support Staff

Analytical | Pragmatic | Proactive Jo serves as a Supporting Role Member (Processing Specialist) for our Caregiver Support Staff, bringing a unique blend of processing expertise and deep empathy to the team. Drawn to the veterinary profession by a desire to help others during their most vulnerable moments, Jo focuses on the “small actions” that make difficult days easier. Whether streamlining a complex workflow or providing a steady hand during end-of-life care, Jo’s goal is to ensure that every person who enters the clinic feels supported, respected, and heard. With a professional philosophy of “can’t stop, won’t stop,” Jo is a natural problem-solver who thrives on making sense of chaotic situations. She is particularly passionate about caregiver communication and patient advocacy, believing that strong teamwork is the key to navigating the emotional complexities of veterinary medicine. Rather than pointing to a single dramatic case, Jo finds the most fulfillment in the “collective moments” where the system works perfectly—where the patient gets the right care, the workflow remains smooth, and the caregiver leaves feeling fully supported. When the day is done, Jo recharges through creativity and family time. Whether working on art projects with their daughter or taking short day trips “up north,” Jo values the balance that family life provides. Known for using humor to lighten stressful situations, Jo is the person who is likely already halfway through fixing a complicated process before most people have noticed the glitch. “Can’t stop, won’t stop.”

Talia is particularly fascinated by the unique and complex medical cases that come through the clinic doors, and she has a special soft spot for our feline patients. She wishes more people understood that, regardless of the situation, the ultimate goal of every veterinary professional is always the same: to help the patient. Off the clock, Talia enjoys immersing herself in art and the outdoors, often finding inspiration in nature’s quiet beauty. Much of her free time is centered around her three cats—Nova, Vega, and Deja—whom she describes as the sweetest girls. In addition to her feline companions, she maintains a peaceful home environment filled with a large variety of fish.

Outside of work, Isabelle is an adventurous spirit who enjoys biking, jogging, hiking, and diving into 3D crafts. (Fun fact: She also races lawnmowers with the CWMRA!) Back at home, she cares for her own lively menagerie, including three cats—Asher (a sleek black DSH), Petra (a dilute calico DSH), and Mocha (a brown tabby DLH)—alongside Kore`, her crested gecko. “If there is no struggle, there is no progress,”

Trenity

Caregiver Support Staff

Pursuing the vet field has always been in the back of Trenity’s mind ever since they asked us what do you want to be when you grow up. She originally wanted to be a doctor at that time but as you see, she is no doctor. However, she shows up to support her coworkers and the community in the little ways I can. Trinity is grateful to have four charismatic cats, Rosé, Sylvester, Shroomie and Killua Jones – They are a vivacious bunch! In her downtime she enjoys creative hobbies, gaming and pretending she exists. Her friends would say she has a flair for the dramatic but she would say it’s a good time. “Remember the importance of spaying and neutering your cats and dogs!”

Tarynn

Caregiver Support Staff

Energetic | Happy | Loud Tarynn was inspired to enter the veterinary profession by a simple but powerful goal: to be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. She approaches her role with a high-energy, positive attitude and a deep sense of empathy. She wishes more people understood that veterinary professionals are deeply invested in their work and have feelings too—carrying the weight of every patient’s journey home with them. Looking ahead, Tarynn is focused on advancing her medical expertise, with plans to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and the potential goal of one day earning her DVM. Originally hailing from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Tarynn stays true to her “Yooper” roots by spending as much time as possible outdoors hiking, fishing, or boating. When she isn’t finding her balance in nature, she is at home with her two cats: Archie, an outgoing orange tabby who is a total people-person and famous for his high-energy sprints, and Calypso, a beautiful calico who balances her independent “me time” with cozy couch cuddles. “I wanted to be the voice for something that doesn’t have one.”

Hailey

Caregiver Support Staff

Creative | Kind | Eccentric Hailey pursued a career in the veterinary profession to find a fulfilling and unique path that allows her to combine her love for animals with her desire to help people. Her “why” is centered on the daily delight of greeting every pet that walks through the door and providing support to caregivers in their time of need. She approaches every patient with kindness and empathy, working through even the most difficult cases to ensure every pet and caregiver feels heard and supported. With a personality that is as creative as it is kind, Hailey thrives on artistic expression. Off the clock, she stays busy reading, crocheting, playing video games, and painting. Her eye for detail and love for the arts fuel her long-term career aspirations, as she dreams of one day working in graphic design or publishing. For Hailey, the ideal life is one that is simple and fulfilling, balanced by a career that allows her to make a difference while pursuing her artistic passions. Hailey is surrounded by her own four-legged family members, each with their own distinct quirks. Her home is kept lively by two dogs: Bailey, a clingy retriever mix who never goes anywhere without her favorite blankie, and Sasha, a miniature pinscher who takes her job as the household “guard dog” very seriously. Sasha’s favorite activity is running joyful circles the second she gets outside. Joining the dogs are two cats: Kiki, a “quirky void” who is always watching from nearby, and Kiva, a happy tortoiseshell who begins purring the moment anyone enters the room.

MacKenzee

Caregiver Support Staff

Driven | Adaptable | Compassionate MacKenzee is motivated by the direct impact she can make on families, finding her “why” in providing a sense of calm and compassion during what are often a caregiver’s most stressful moments. She takes great pride in being part of a team that advocates for animals and supports the people who love them. Looking toward the future, MacKenzee is focused on expanding her medical knowledge and plans to attend college to become a Veterinary Technician. Outside of the clinic, MacKenzee leads an exceptionally active and disciplined life. She is a Sergeant in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, serving as a CBRN Specialist—a role that speaks to her adaptability and drive. When she isn’t in uniform, she is often training for her next powerlifting competition or relaxing with a good anime series. When she isn’t training or on duty, she is likely at home watching anime with her four cats. Her feline family includes the incredibly sweet orange tabby, Mr. Squishy; a discerning Ragdoll named Miah; Nezuko, a shy tuxedo cat with a love for catnip and tiny couches; and Maple, a cuddly long-haired cat who never tires of chasing lasers.

Administrative & Operations Staff

Morgan Wardall

Practice Liason

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a degree in Communications and General Management, Morgan possesses a professional foundation built on strategic leadership and disciplined execution. While her academic background provides the blueprint for her leadership, her tenacity was forged as a collegiate athlete. She brings this distinctive mindset to the workplace, helping build resilient, high-integrity teams that view every obstacle as fertilizer for future growth. Recognizing that veterinary professionals are among the most dedicated yet emotionally taxed individuals in the workforce, she translated her lifelong passion for animals into a mission to cultivate the people who treat them. She believes that true development requires a balance of “good and bad” conditions to reach full potential. Just as a seed needs both the warmth of the sun and the trial of the storm, Morgan views the challenges of the veterinary industry as necessary catalysts for building stronger, more capable teams. In her current role, Morgan acts as a vital bridge between clinical excellence and operational health. Her leadership is intentionally moldable, providing exactly what the clinic requires at any given moment. Her goal is to clear the path and cultivate the clinic, so the team can focus entirely on patient care.
Committed to a culture of integrity and adaptive support, Morgan is dedicated to evolving the industry one step at a time, ensuring that both the business and the people behind it can truly flourish.

Hannah

Custodial Staff

Introverted | Overthinker | Compassionate Inspired by a deep love for animals and a curiosity for the medical side of their care, she is driven by a commitment to continual professional and personal growth. She is especially passionate about the “human” side of veterinary medicine—building transparent, trusting relationships with caregivers to show that the team cares for every patient just as much as their families do. To her, strong communication and a sense of community are the heart of providing exceptional care. One of Hannah’s most memorable experiences involved supporting a family through a difficult end-of-life decision during the height of the pandemic. By offering steady, patient reassurance and a compassionate presence, she helped a grieving owner navigate their fears and find peace. It is this dedication to helping others through their most vulnerable moments—even when it means sharing a few tears—that defines her approach to the profession. Off the clock, you’ll find her immersed in a fantasy novel, crocheting, or playing volleyball. A true “cat lady” at heart, all of her feline companions are named after book characters. Her home is shared with Luna, a nine-year-old with “firm boundaries” who is perfectly sweet at home, and two eight-month-old kittens, Vin and Valette. These younger additions are affectionately described as “goblins” because no food in the house is safe when they are around. “If I look back, I am lost.” — Daenerys Targaryen

Chelsey

Accounts Payable Coordinator

Adventurous | Devoted | Compassionate Chelsey plays a vital role in ensuring the clinic runs smoothly behind the scenes. After spending time at home raising her children, her lifelong love for dogs inspired her to re-enter the workforce within a field that makes a real difference for animals. Chelsey’s “why” is simple and selfless: she shows up every day to support the incredible medical and support teams at the clinic, providing the operational stability they need to focus on their patients. Off the clock, Chelsey is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, kayaking, and camping with her husband and their six children. A gymnast for 30 years and a current coach, she stays active and loves watching her kids pursue their passions. Their family dog, a mini Bernedoodle named Moxie, fits right into their adventurous lifestyle with her love for car rides, bug-hunting, and high-speed zoomies.

Anne

Administrative Assistant

Supportive | Dedicated | Animal-Lover Anne is motivated by a strong commitment to supporting the mission and goals of our clinic. Her “why” is centered on the team; she shows up every day to handle the essential support tasks that allow our medical staff to focus on what they do best—taking care of patients. Anne wishes more people realized just how deeply everyone in this profession cares about doing what is best for animals. For her, the most touching moments on the job aren’t the high-drama cases, but the heartfelt thank-you notes from caregivers that serve as a reminder of the clinic’s impact on the community. When she isn’t keeping things running smoothly at the clinic, Anne’s life is beautifully chaotic. She is a dedicated sheep herder, a hiker, a rock painter, and a fan of Dungeons & Dragons and reading. In a true testament to her love for her pets, Anne admits she actually bought a sheep farm specifically for her dogs rather than getting dogs for the farm. Whether she is strategically navigating a D&D campaign or herding sheep, she embraces the unpredictability of life. Anne’s home is powered by the high-energy antics of five Australian Shepherds: Qwill, Bob Ross, Gingersnap, Solaire, and Darumaka. Their days are spent running around the farm yard like “hooligans” and barking at anything that looks out of place—Gingersnap, in particular, has a personal vendetta against snow falling off the barn roof. While they are often seen bouncing off the furniture or begging for more herding time, they always make sure to find a few quiet moments for cuddles. “Most gods throw dice, but Fate plays chess, and you don’t find out til too late that he’s been playing with two queens all along.” — Terry Pratchett
